Belhaven's impressive second half proves to be too much for LC

Box Score
Trying to get back to their winning ways after dropping a tough game to Wiley College, the Louisiana College men's soccer team ran into one of the nation's toughest teams in defending NAIA National Champion Belhaven University. The Blazers proved to be as good as advertised, taking a 6-1 decision against the Wildcats.

LC would actually show a significant sign of life early in the second half after being down 2-0 at halftime when freshman Rodrigo Neves was able to put home his second goal of the season off of a beautiful cross from Pedro Silva just a little over six minutes into the second half to make the score 2-1.

But the Blazers were resilient the rest of the night, scoring four second half goals, including three in a five minute stretch lead by Cillian Thompson (at 56:51), Will Monsour (60:23), and Eduardo Cruz (61:41).

The Wildcats, noticeably missing star sophomore forward Fellipe Albuquerque due to a red card in the previous match against Wiley College, were unable to possess the ball for long enough to the amount of looks offensively needed to take down a team as strong as Belhaven, as they were out shot 33-11 on the night.

Like the Lady Wildcats, Prince Borde's club will be playing their fifth match of their current five game home stand on Thursday against the Milsaps Majors. That match  will take place at 7 p.m. at Wildcat Field.
