The Louisiana College men's soccer team was unable to continue their three-game win streak going on Thursday night against Wiley College, dropping a 2-0 decision to the Wildcats in a very chippy and physical contest.
Wiley was able to take the early advantage when Pedro Jurno scored an unassisted goal in the 35
th minute of the first half to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead.
Carlos Licon then drilled home a goal off of a throw in to give Wiley a 2-0 advantage in 61
st minute in the second half. That was all the Wildcats would need to end LC's winning streak, as
Prince Borde's club was held scoreless for the first time since their season opener against Berry College. LC had defeated their previous three opponents 8-0.
The play was very physical and testy all game, as the teams combined for seven yellow cards and two red cards.
Despite the loss, the Wildcats were able to work in several different rotations and get multiple players some extended game action in order to prepare for ASC play, which begins on September 27
th on the road against Concordia.
LC falls to 3-2 on the year with the loss and will face Belhaven in the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday at 8 p.m.
