Despite another inspired effort, the Louisiana College women's soccer team fell just short in Saturday's opening weekend match against Hendrix College in Conway, AR, dropping a 3-2 decision against the Warrior.

The Lady Cats wasted no time taking an early 1-0 lead when highly touted junior transfer
Pamela Usry found the back of the net off an assist from
Corey Clampit.

However, Hannah Sigda's outstanding day proved to be the difference in the final outcome, as the Hendrix forward recorded a rare hat trick, scoring goals in the 14
th, 26
th, and 47
th minute to give the Warriors a 3-1 cushion.

Taylor Bergeron would make things interesting in the 51
st minute, as her first goal of the season brought the Lady Wildcats closer, 3-2.

The Lady Cats would have one final chance to tie the match, but when
Brandi Martin's shot in the 86
th minute sailed high, Hendrix was able to close things out from there to take the win.

LC had yet another encouraging effort offensively, as the Lady Cats rattled off 12 shots, 8 of which were on target, compared to 4 shots (all of which were on target) for the Warriors.
