The Louisiana College Lady Wildcats clinched the #3 seed in the ASC East with their doubleheader sweep of UT-Dallas on Saturday afternoon, taking game one 9-6 before shutting out the Comets 5-0 in game two on Senior Day.

The Lady Wildcats took game one on the back of a 3-for-3, two home run, four RBI game from junior shortstop Meagan Pearson.

Pearson ripped her first home run, a two run shot, in the bottom of the first inning after Stephanie Jaeger drove in Emorie Nugent on an RBI double to put LC ahead 3-0.

UT-Dallas would fight back to take a 5-3 lead heading to the bottom of the fifth, but LC would answer yet again, as Emily Douglas hit an RBI single to right center, scoring Jaeger. Pearson then gave the Lady Wildcats the lead with her second home run of the game, another two-run shot that gave LC a 6-5 lead.

The Comets would tie the game in the top of the sixth when Avery McHugh ripped an RBI single, scoring Brittanie Knowles to tie the game at six.

However, Emily Douglas would not let her team down on Senior Day, as she gave her team an 8-6 lead with a two-run single with two outs in the bottom of the sixth. Catcher Courtney Ivey would drive in another run to give LC a 9-6 lead, which was the eventual final score.

Douglas finished the game 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored.

Senior Leslie Eastham threw a complete game to pick up the win, giving up just one earned run.

LC's trio of freshmen pitchers would dominate in game two to lead the Lady wildcats to the 5-0 win.

Nancy Bunting, Abby Maillet, and Madison Vige combined for a three-hit shutout to blank the Comets.

Douglas would enjoy another big game in the series finale, going 1-for-3 at the plate with four RBI.

With the Lady Wildcats (24-13, 13-11) taking three out of the four games over the weekend, LC will now be the #3 seed from the East Division in next week's ASC Tournament.
