The Louisiana College softball team fell in game one of Thursday's doubleheader against LeTourneau 2-1, as Yellow Jacket catcher Jourdan Glover scored on a walk-off wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh inning.
The Lady Wildcats dominated throughout the first six innings, holding a 1-0 lead throughout, as they scored in the first inning on a
Meagan Pearson RBI double down the right field line and held that lead until the final frame.
Senior pitcher
Leslie Eastham was nearly perfect in those first six innings, giving up just two hits and walking none before LeTourneau was able to plate two runs on three in the seventh to claim the victory.
Eastham took the loss in game one to fall to 7-2 on the year, while Pearson and
Emily Douglas collected the only two hits of the afternoon for the Lady Wildcats.
Freshman pitcher
Nancy Bunting dominated in the circle for LC in game two, as the Lady Wildcats downed LeTourneau 3-1 to split the doubleheader.
Bunting threw a complete game, giving up six hits and one earned run to earn the win, moving her record to 7-2 on the year.
LC scored all three of their run sin the second inning, as
Laura Gulotta-Parrish drove in
Abby Maillet with an RBI double.
Chelsea Allen followed that with a two RBI single down the left field line.
LC moved to 16-5 overall, 8-4 in the ASC, with the doublehehader split. They will take on rival East Texas Baptist, who is currently ranked in the top-15 nationally, at home in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p..m.
