2/9/2013 8:42:00 PM

Box Score

Following a huge win on the road against The Ozarks on Thursday, the Louisiana College men's basketball team fell to ASC East power UT-Dallas by a final score of 83-72 in Richardson, Tx. on Saturday afternoon.

Although it did not eliminate them from a potential ASC Tournament birth, the Wildcats must now win their final three regular season games, two of those coming at home and on the road against Mississippi College, in order to make the postseason.

UT-Dallas forward Kyle Schleigh, the reigning ASC Player of the Week was spectacular for the Comets, as he rattled home a game-high 32 points to go along with eight rebounds and four steals.

The Wildcats 11-point loss came on a decent shooting night, as LC shot 46.6% (27-58), but could not keep up with the Comets, who shot 53.8% (28-52) from the field.

Freshman Anthony Gaines, Jr. led LC in points (15), rebounds (7), and steals (4) despite only playing 23 minutes during the contest before fouling out.

Romanaski Williams (12 points, 4 rebounds) and Kevin Cottonham (12 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists) also reached double figures for the Wildcats.

With LeTourneau beating ETBU on Saturday 74-68, the Wildcats now sit 1.5 games behind the Yellow Jackets for the final playoff spot in the East Division. LC, now 7-11 overall and 7-9 in conference, with play ETBU at home on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. That will be followed with another home matchup against UT-Tyler on Saturday at 3 p.m., which will serve as Senior Day for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats must win both games and hope for some help from LeTourneau in order to make the postseason.
