Wildcats fall to Choctaws 84-71

CLINTON, Miss. –Six Louisiana College seniors played the final basketball game of their collegiate careers Monday night as the Wildcats fell 84-71 to Mississippi College at A.E. Wood Coliseum.

LC finished the season with an 8-13 overall record and was 8-11 in the American Southwest Conference. The Wildcats lost seven games by five points or less with four of those losses coming by two points or less.

Mississippi College will take a 15-10 over record and 11-8 league mark into the ASC tournament, which begins Thursday at the University of Texas at Dallas.
Freshman forward Anthony Gaines Jr. led LC with 24 points followed by freshman point guard Kevin Cottonham with 16 points.

Brandon Blake led four Mississippi College players in double figures with 26 points followed by Adam Smith with 15, Laquavius Cotton with 12 and Jesse Taylor with 11.
Playing in their final game for LC were seniors Edward Atkins, Derrick Gardner, Phillip George, Shaun Johnson, Danny Sumner and Romanaski Williams.
