The LC Wildcats faced off against ETBU Thursday night at H.O West Fieldhouse. At 7-9, the Wildcats came into the game still very much in the hunt for an ASC playoff berth.
LC started the game slow, but took the first lead of the game at 10:50 in the first half. The Wildcats closed out the first half leading 40-37.
ETBU managed to grab a slim lead at 18:10 in the second half with the score 43-42, but the Wildcats battled back with a spark off the bench in Senior
Romanaski Williams. Williams rattled off 5 quick points in less than a minute and the Wildcats didn't look back from there.
It was the bench that proved the difference for the Wildcats as they outscored ETBU 20-12 in the first half, and 47-21 for the game.
Senior
Romanaski Williams led LC in scoring for the game with 16 points. Williams spearheaded the attack off the bench for the Wildcats, and became the focal point of the attack for the Wildcats.
Freshman
Kevin Cottonham had 12 points, senior
Danny Sumner had 13 points, and Freshman
Kevin Lewis had 11 points for the game.
The Wildcats showed poise down the stretch and pulled out a must win game to keep their playoff hopes alive.
LC is now 8-11 and 8-9 in the ASC, while ETBU fell to 9-15 on the season and 5-13 in the ASC.
In order to stay alive, the Wildcats must win against UT-Tyler on Saturday at home. That game starts at 3 p.m. and will serve as senior day for LC's six senior class members.
