Box Score
After enjoying the finest freshman season in school history a season ago, LC sophomore forward
Taylor Bergeron once again etched her name in the school record books during Thursday night's 7-0 victory over LeTourneau.
The 7 goals scored marked the largest offensive output in a single match in program history for the Lady Wildcats, and for Bergeron, her goal in the 20
th minute of the first half against the Yellow Jackets was her seventh of the season, setting a new single season school record for goals in a season.
Bergeron broke the previous record of six, which was previously held by Bergeron during the 2012 season and Maria Locker in 2003.
The sophomore from Houma, LA certainly had plenty of support from her teammates on Thursday night, as five other lady Wildcats were able to find the back of the night en route to the historic win.
Pamela Usry started off the scoring in the 9
th minute when she scored her third goal of the season off an assist from Bergeron and
Haley Parsons.
Jayme Harmon then scored off a free kick less than three minutes later to give LC a 2-0 advantage. Parsons and Usry would then hook up again on Usry's second goal of the night in the 18
th minute.
Following Bergeron's record setting goal, which made the score 4-0, Stephanie Clampit, Laura Hane, and
Sara Smith would all score unassisted goals before the first half ended to tally up the 7-0 final score.
More importantly, the win gave the Lady Cats new life in the ASC standings as they are now 1-2 in ASC play with a 1 p.m. home matchup against Texas-Tyler on the schedule for Saturday.
