Box Score
For the second consecutive season,
Prince Borde and his Louisiana College Wildcats have started off their season in grand fashion, as they took control early and never looked back in a 4-2 victory Monday afternoon at Wildcat Field.
Highly touted freshman forward
Fellipe Albuquerque had an outstanding debut for the Wildcats, as he scored the first two goals of LC's season, coming at the nine minute and thirty-three minute marks of the first half respectively.
Despite some chippy play late in the game that resulted in Borde and Huntingdon's Christian Cabrera being ejected in the 2nd half, the Wildcats appear to have an explosive team with solid, veteran experience that could push for playoff contention.
Kevin Mayorga and
Raffi Ferreira also chipped in on the scoring, with Cabrera scoring just before the end of the first half. Ferreira, one of the American Southwest Conference's most talented midfielder added a highlight reel goal at the forty-eight minute mark of the match.
The Wildcats will now take on Dallas Christian on Friday September 7 in Dallas, Tx. at 5 p.m.
