- Howard Payne won 7 consecutive meetings from 2000 (when LC's football program started back up) until 2006. That included a 70-21 victory over the Wildcats in 2003. The Wildcats have won 5 consecutive meetings dating back to 2007.
 
- Those 70 points scored by HPU in 2003 are tied for the most ever given up by an LC team since the rebirth of football in the year 2000. The other was Mary Hardin-Baylor, who defeated LC 70-14 in the year 2007.
 
- Coincidentially, LC also set the record against HPU for most points scored since 2000, when they defeated the Yellow Jackets 62-28 in 2010. Record setting Quarterback ben Mclaughlin threw for a school record 491 yards and 6 touchdowns.
