Despite some late game defensive issues that
Prince Borde was visibly (and audibly) frustrated with, the Wildcats were able to defeat Howard Payne 4-2 in Saturday's American Southwest Conference matchup, led by
Fellipe Albuquerque's huge day.
Albuquerque, one of the top forwards in the ASC, set LC soccer history when he became the second player in program history to record a hat trick, scoring 3 goals in Saturday's match. That brought his season goal total to 7 in only 8 games, which puts him in position to break the LC single season goal mark of 14 set by Oscar Girod in 2007. Girod is also the other player in program history to record a hat trick.
LC continues to enjoy a historic season, as they are now 6-2 on the season, improving on what is still the best start to a season in program history.
The Wildcats will get a 6 day break before taking on Texas Lutheran next Friday at 7 p.m. in Sequin, Tx.
