The Louisiana College Lady Wildcats, riding a three game shutout streak, opened up American Southwest Conference onference play Tuesday night with a 2-0 loss to Mississippi College.

As they looked to ride the momentum from their previous week, the Lady Choctaws snubbed their hopes of opening conference play with a victory. A Melanie Benner goal 15 minutes into the match put MC ahead for good. MC then added another goal by Christy Wyne with under 10 minutes left in the match.

Another strong showing from senior goalie Emily Breaux kept the Wildcats in the game after that, as she finished with 10 saves. However, the Lady Wildcats were unable to get on the scoreboard as they had so often their previous three matches.

The Lady Cats look to bounce back this Tuesday with a non-conference match vs. LSU-Shreveport at home. They will then have a week long break before Hardin-Simmons, a traditional powerhouse in the ASC, comes to town with the Lady Wildcats looking for their first conference win.
