FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – The Louisiana College softball team's late-game luck finally ran out at the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament. One day after registering last-inning wins over both Howard Payne and Mary Hardin-Baylor, the Lady Cats fell 3-2 in eight innings to Texas-Tyler.
LC (27-12) fell behind Texas-Tyler (35-7) by two runs early but tied the score in the bottom of the fourth before allowing the Patriots to score the game-winning run in the top of the eighth.
With the loss, Louisiana College will now face an elimination game Saturday at 11 a.m. against either East Texas Baptist or Mary Hardin-Baylor.
On Friday, the Lady Cats got seven hits and committed two errors while Texas-Tyler got nine hits while committing two errors.
Katelyn Tomason was the winning pitcher working a complete game and striking out four.
Jordan Waldroup (8-5) took the loss after her own complete game and one strikeout.

Meagan Pearson (Frierson, La./North DeSoto HS) was the top batter for the Lady Cats with a 3-for-4 showing.
Rachel Howell was Texas-Tyler's top batter going 1-for-3 with a solo homerun.
