PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana College softball team completed a four-game sweep of Ozarks here Saturday, downing the Eagles 4-2 and 3-0.
With the wins, LC improved to 15-1 on the season and 6-0 in American Southwest Conference play. Ozarks fell to 7-11 overall and 2-6 in the ASC East.
LC senior third baseman
Devan Greene (Kaplan, La./Kaplan HS) went a combined 4-for-7 on the day with three RBI. Greene registered all of her RBI on singles in Game 1.
In the second game, junior
Brianna Hall (Shreveport, La./Southwood HS) wwent 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.
Freshman
Tori Davis (West Monroe, La./West Ouachita HS) got the win in Game 1 and improved to 4-0 on the season after pitching all seven innings and allowing five hits and two walks.
In the second game sophomore
Rudi Aycock (Olla, La./LaSalle HS)registered the win and improved to 4-0 after pitched the first four innings and struck out one while walking two and allowing five hits.
Junior
Leslie Eastham (Baton Rouge, La./Woodlawn HS), who threw the 19th no-hitter in LC softball history Friday afternoon, pitched the final three innings and registered the save, her first of the year.
Oazarks' Kelsey Stephens went 2-for-5 with a homerun to pace the Eagles' offense.
Amber Rollins (6-7), who was the only pitcher used by Ozarks over the four-game series, took the loss in both games striking out a combined five batters.
LC returns to action Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. in a non-conference doubleheader against Millsaps at home. Those contests will be followed by a home showdown with ASC East rival Texas-Tyler on Saturday at 2 p.m.
