D'Mario Parker and Ira Jewitt's record setting days have brought Louisiana College football another impressive haul of weekly awards.
 
Parker was named American Southwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week as well as earning a spot on the D3Football.com Team of the Week. (To see the rest of the team, click HERE)
 
Parker, who was the #2 receiver behind Darnell Williams the last two seasons, showed the type of big play ability he possesses as he caught 6 passes for 261 yards and 3 touchdowns.
 
Those 261 yards were a new school record, breaking Williams' old record of 244 set against McMurry in 2011. It also broke the 12 year old ASC record for single game yards per reception with a 43.5 yards per catch average. 
 
Parker became the first offensive player this season for LC to be named ASC Offensive Player of the Week. (To see the others honorees from this week, click HERE)
 
Jewitt, who made his mark last week with a 102 yard kick return for a touchdown (a new school record), broke through once again against Mississippi, scoring two defensive touchdowns.
 
Those two touchdowns came on a 41 yard fumble return and a 97 yard interception return.
 
For his efforts, Jewitt was named the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Defensive Player of the Week.
 
With his two touchdowns, he became the first player in school history to return an interception and a fumble for a touchdown in the same game. The 97 yard interception return was also a school record. He also a 70 yard punt return for a touchdown that was called back on a questionable block in the back call in the 1st quarter. 
 
So far this season, Louisiana College has placed four players on the D3Football.com Team of the Week, had two LSWA Players of the Week, six ASC Players of the Week, and once had the D3Football.com National Play of the Week.
