After becoming the first quarterback in school history to lead LC to 8 wins as well as a Division 3 playoff birth, Jamie Bunting has been named the American Southwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

Bunting, who has played his best football of the season during the last 4 regular season games with the Wildcat's playoff dreams on the line, had arguably the best game of his career on Saturday afternoon. 

Bunting finished the contest going 31-39 (79.5%) for 408 yards and 4 touchdowns, and most importantly, a record breaking 8th win.

During the final three games of the regular season, Bunting has thrown for 1,189 yards and 12 touchdown passes.

Saturday was his fourth consecutive game with 4 touchdown passes, only the second player in school history to accomplish that feat, joining current LC running backs and former All-American Ben McLaughlin, who did it in seven consecutive games during his historic 2010 campaign. 

Bunting's selection as ASC Offensive Player of the Week marks the 7th time this season a Wildcat has won such an award. LC has also won 2 LSWA Player of the Week awards, had 4 players placed on the D3Football.com Team of the Week, and once had the D3Football.com National Play of the Week.
