TYLER, Texas - Louisiana College started strong and led for most of the game but could not clinch a 75-70 victory over the Texas-Tyler Patriots until the closing seconds Thursday night.
LC made six key free throws down the stretch as the Wildcats held on for the win against a Patriot team that hit timely three-pointers repeatedly to keep the game close.
LC improved to 6-9 overall and 6-7 in ASC play. The Cats remained in third place in the ASC East. Tyler fell to 5-13 overall and 4-10 in league play.
The WIldcats had one of their best shooting nights of the year, connecting on 11-of-29 three-pointers.

Jarrod Jackson broke out of a shooting slump to score 23 points to lead all scorers.

Danny Sumner had his best night of the season, scoring 20 points off the bench.
