FARMERS BRANCH, Texas - The Louisiana College Softball Team remained perfect on the season after defeating Concordia 8-4 in the first of four weekend games at the American Southwest Conference's First Pitch Tournament.

LC scored two runs in the first inning, one in the third and two in the fifth to take a 5-0 lead before surrendering four runs to Concordia in the sixth. The Lady Wildcats, however, rebounded and posted three runs in the bottom of the sixth to secure the win.

Rene' Schwartzenburg (Marksville, La./Marksville HS) earned the victory and improved to 2-0 pitching all seven innings and striking out eight while allowing eight hits.

Daniele Wilson (Destrehan, La./Copiah-Lincoln CC) was the star at the plate for LC, going 3-for-3 with two runs scored and five RBI.

Amber Thomas (Rosepine, La./Rosepine HS)  went 3-for-4 and drove in a run.

LC returns to action this afternoon against Texas Lutheran.
