Box Score
AUSTIN, Texas – The Louisiana College Wildcats suffered a heartbreaking loss just before their Christmas break and dropped a 93-92 decision to Concordia in American Southwest Conference play on Monday.

In a game in which 61 fouls were called, 35 on Concordia and 26 on Louisiana College, the Wildcats (4-4, 4-3 ASC) shot 72 percent from the foul line while Concordia shot 83 percent.

The loss put a damper on a game in which several Wildcats had great showings.

Louisiana College senior point guard Jelani Mitchell (St. Martinville, La./St. Martinville HS) scored 26 points and went 13-for-14 from the free-throw line despite playing just 23 minutes on the night, approximately 12 minutes less than his average, due to foul trouble.

Junior wing Phillip George (Baton Rouge, La./Family Christian Academy) posted the first double-double of his college career with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Senior wing Jarrod Jackson (Albany, La./Albany HS) added 16 points and senior post Derrick Gardner (St. Martinville, La./St. Martinville HS) 10 points and seven boards.

Concordia (5-3, 4-2 ASC) was led by Darius Anderson with 23 points, the highest of the five Tornados to reach double figures on Monday.

Louisiana College returns to action on Jan. 5 with a home game against Hardin-Simmons.
