SEGUIN, Texas – The LC men shot well but were outdone on the boards Monday night in an 86-78 conference road loss to Texas Lutheran Monday night.
LC (1-1, 1-1 American Southwest Conference) shot 46 percent from the field and had five players reach double-figure scoring.
Texas Lutheran (2-2, 2-0 ASC) shot 47 percent and pulled down 16 more rebounds than the Wildcats to secure the win.
The Bulldogs finished with 42 total rebounds compared to Louisiana College's 26 and got 20 offensive boards to LC's nine.
Texas Lutheran's Isaac Williams led the way with 23 points and seven rebounds.
Korey Salmon (Deville, La./Buckeye HS) and
Jarrod Jackson (Albany, La./Albany HS) scored 14 points apiece to lead the Wildcats.
Jelani MIthcell (St. Martinville, La./St. Martinville HS) scored 12 points and dished out eight assists while
Derrick Gardner (St. Martinville, La./St. Martinville HS) scored 11 points and had seven rebounds and
Phillip George (Baton Rouge, La./Family Christian Academy) scored 10.
