PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana College men's soccer team fell behind early, rebounded and ultimately dropped a 5-1 decision to the Mary-Hardin Baylor Cru in a home American Southwest Conference match Thursday night.

The Cru sprinted out to a 3-0 lead with goals from John Williams, Garrett Graham and Chris Torres giving Mary Hardin-Baylor in the first 39 minutes of the match.

The Wildcats were able to answer just before the half and cut the deficit to 3-1 at the break thanks to a goal from Benny Barshai on an assist from Jakob Goodwin.

Second-half goals by Torres and Kyle Dickey put the game out of reach for LC.

Both teams did a good job of getting off shots in the contest.

Louisiana College got off 11 shots, nine on goal, forcing Cru goalie Adam Cecil to make eight saves.

Wildcat keeper Eric Post made 10 saves and backup Rodrigo Medina two as Mary Hardin-Baylor put 17 of its 21 shots on goal.

Next up for LC is a 3 p.m. Saturday home showdown with ASC foe Howard Payne.
