PINEVILLE, La. - Senior co-captain Marione Coronel (DeRidder, La./DeRidder HS) had one of the best games of her career but the Lady Cats came up one goal short in a 3-2 conference loss to McMurry.

LC (0-4-1 in American Southwest Conference play) was down 2-0 early in the second half  thanks to two goals by Rachel Moore, but managed to pull within one of the lead when Coronel scored the Lady Cats first goal of 2010 season.

McMurry's Chelseas Klein, who was awarded a penalty kick after falling inside the box, put McMurry back up 3-1before Coronel got her second unassisted goal of the night and found the back of the net in the 63rd minute.

LC, which got off a season-high 15 shots (11 on goal), had several more scoring opportunities in the final 26 minutes of the game, but could not quite strike pay dirt.

Goalkeeper Emily Breaux (Lafayette, La./Lafayette HS) did her part to limit McMurry's scoring opportunities, stopping 22 of the opposition's 25 shots on goal.
