PINEVILLE, La. - The Louisiana College women did not win, but had one of their best showings of the year in a 3-0 loss to Mississippi College Friday night.

LC (0-7-1, 0-2-1) fought through 33 shots on goal by the Lady Choctaws and managed to keep the game close throughout against an MC team that improved to 6-0-1 on the year and 3-0 in American Southwest Conference play.

Sophomore goalie Emily Breaux (Lafayette, La./Lafayette HS) was good for 21 saves on the night.

But for two goals by MC's Miriam Henry and another by Katie Salmen, the Lady Wildcats looked solid.

Sophomore captain Martha Means (Pineville, La./Pineville HS) even threatened with a late shot on goal.

LC returns to action Saturday at 5 p.m. with a non-conference home game against LSU-Shreveport.
