MC men pull away from LC late

PINEVILLE, La. - The Louisiana College Wildcats fell to 0-3 in American Southwest Conference play Friday night after the Mississippi College Choctaws scored three goals in the second half to turn what had been a 2-0 game into a decisive, 5-0 win.

The Choctaws (5-2, 2-1 ASC) got two goals apiece from Hugo Flores and Austin Baker and managed 28 shots on goal in the game.

LC was good for four shots on goal, one apiece from Anthony Lee (Mobile, Ala./Baker HS/South Alabama), Collin Yammarino (Scott, La./Acadiana HS), Eric Post (Metarie, La./East Jefferson HS) and Nathan Searcy (New Orleans, La./Crescent City Baptist/Leavel College).

The star of the game for the Wildcats, however, was goalie Filip Linder (Umea, Sweden/Dragonskolan) who produced 23 saves in the game, his highest output to date.

The WIldcats (0-7, 0-3 ASC) return to action Saturday at 7 p.m. with a non-conference home game against LSU-Shreveport.
