Game 1 Box Score / Game 2 Box Score
PINEVILLE, La. -- Leslie Eastham had three extra base hits, including two home runs, and drove in five runs as Louisiana College swept a doubleheader with the Lady Tigers of East Texas Baptist University. The Lady Wildcats improved to 34-2 overall, with an 18-2 mark in the conference as they won by scores of 4-1 and 6-1. LC also officially qualified for the ASC tournament at the end of the month in Dallas, Texas.

Eastham hit a two run shot in the first inning of game one and a solo shot in the bottom of the fifth of game two. The homers were the fifth and sixth of the year for the freshman, who also added a 2-run double in the third inning of the second contest.

The offensive outburst was part of a day that saw LC jump on two good pitchers early in the game and use dominant pitching of their own to complete the victories.

In the nightcap, Mary Alice Roy was on base three times, singling and scoring a run in the first inning and doubling twice later in the game.

ETBU tied the game in the second inning. Shortstop Stacy Havner reached on an infield single and scored on a throwing error by Mary Alice Roy. Kelly Williams issued two walks to load the bases, but for the second time in as many games, pinch hitter Alyssa Edwards struck out with the bases full of Tigers, this time to end the inning.

The Lady Wildcats scored three times in the third inning, as Eastham doubled home Jodi Montagnino and Ashleigh Clement. It was the second time in as many games that two Lady Wildcats who reached base on consecutive walks and errors would come around to score.

Third baseman Devan Greene followed with an RBI single and the Wildcats were out to a 4-1 advantage, which they would add to with Eastham's solo homerun and Mary Alice Roy's RBI double.

Kelly Williams pitched a complete game and allowed one unearned run on five hits and two walks. She struck out five batters in improving to 8-1 on the season.

The Lady Wildcats only had three hits and made four errors in the first game, but were able to emerge with a 4-1 victory thanks to a four-run first inning and a complete game from pitcher Rene' Schwartzenburg.

Schwartzenburg had a similar line to Williams, as she pitched seven innings and allowed only an unearned run, while giving up five hits and not issuing a walk. The junior ace struck out seven Lady Tigers and earned her twentieth win of the season, with only one defeat.

The Lady Cats were able to get to All-American pitcher Ayrika Henderson for four runs in the first inning.
Jodi Montagnino drove in Brittany Menard with a sacrifice bunt and Ashleigh Clement added an RBI single after the first two batters reached on a walk and an error. Clement was on first when Eastham smacked a ball over the wall in left field.

The Lady Tigers threatened over the course of the game, getting runners on base thanks to four errors by the Lady Wildcats, including three by third baseman Devan Greene. ETBU was able to get on the scoreboard in the third inning when Meghan Fisher was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, but the Lady Wildcats got out of the inning without any more damage when Allison Frye made a brilliant diving catch in left field that saved at least two runs.

Mary Alice Roy singled in the second inning and stole her second base of the game, but that was all of the offense for LC in the first game.

The Lady Wildcats did not have a runner reach base after the second inning, as Henderson settled down and retired 13 consecutive batters to finish the game. She struck out four Lady Wildcats on the afternoon but took the loss to drop to 14-3 for the season.

In between games, the Lady Wildcats honored their five senior players who were participating in their last regular season home series: left fielder Allison Frye, first baseman Aimee Dubroc, center fielder Jodi Montagnino, shortstop Mary Alice Roy, and second baseman Ashleigh Clement.
