PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana College Wildcats ended their home campaign on Tuesday night with a 73-51 defeat at the hands of the Mississippi College Choctaws.

The Wildcats stayed with MC for the first ten minutes, but the visiting Choctaws hung a 12 point run to seize a double digit advantage, which grew to 14 by halftime.

Korey Salmon was the only Wildcat in double-digits, scoring ten points and shooting three-for-five from the field. Chukwuma Ekeh added 9 points and lead all players with 11 rebounds.

Mississippi College extended their lead in the second half to 20, at 52-32, and their advantage never dipped below that size for the rest of the night. The Choctaws got contributions from their entire bench, with 13 players tallying a point for them, and nine players scoring five or more.

The Wildcats tried to shoot their way back into the game, but went 4-23 from behind the three-point line, good for only 17% shooting after the same unit had hit half of their three-pointers on Saturday in their victory over Letourneau.

Louisiana College fell to 7-11 in conference play, and 9-14 overall as they were officially eliminated from American Southwest Conference tournament contention. The Wildcats will play their final game on Thursday night when they travel to the University of Texas-Tyler.

With the victory, MC improves to 14-5 in the conference and clinches the second seed in the ASC men's tournament, to be held at the winner of the West division.

The four graduating seniors on the Louisiana College men's basketball team were honored in a pre-game ceremony as they played their last game at H.O. West Field House. Troy Folse, Daniel Greenhouse, Trent Skluzacek, and Jeremy Hollier were all in the starting lineup and received an ovation from the crowd as they were removed from the game with just over a minute remaining.
