PINEVILLE, La. - The Louisiana College men put up a good fight, but the sharpshooting Cru proved too much as the Wildcats fell by a count of 91-81 in American Southwest Conference action here Thursday night.
It was LC's last game before a lengthy Christmas break and one that sent the Wildcats into their holiday with a 4-5 overall record and a 3-3 mark in the ASC.
Mary Hardin-Baylor (5-1, 3-1 ASC) hit 11 three-pointers on the night and shot 45 percent from both the field and three-point range.
The Wildcats hit 12 three-pointers of their own and shot 81 percent at the free-throw line, but were outrebounded 51-34 by the Cru, which pulled 18 offensive boards to LC's seven.
Junior post
Korey Salmon led the charge for LC on offense with 23 points to go along with seven rebounds, three blocks and three assists.
Sophomore wing
Danny Sumner had the best game of his young career, hitting six three-pointers en route to a personal best 22 points.

Chukwuma Ekeh scored nine points and pulled down nine rebounds.
Mary Hardin-Baylor was led by Robert Moore, who put up 23 points and grabbed six rebounds. James Allen scored 15 points, Marlon Miller 12 and Dean Pele 11 in the win.
The Wildcats will not return to action again until Jan. 4 with a visit to NCAA Division I foe Lamar in Beaumont, Texas.
