PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana College Men's and Women's Basketball teams will get one last shot to show off their talents in front of the home crowd prior to taking a Christmas break of almost two weeks.

Thursday night, beginning at 5:30 p.m., the Lady Cats and Wildcats will play a doubleheader against Mary Hardin-Baylor in American Southwest Conference action.

It will be the biggest test to date for the LC women.

The Lady Cats enter the game with an unblemished, 7-0 overall record and 5-0 mark in conference while Mary Hardin-Baylor's women are 6-1 with a 3-0 conference record.

Neither team has struggled to produce offense as LC has outscored its opponents 605-387 while Mary Hardin-Baylor has outscored its foes 483-398.

Five Lady Cats are currently averaging double-figure scoring with senior forward and All-American Tillisha Givens leading the way, averaging 17.7 points and 10 rebounds per contest.

Senior guard/forward Kayla Guidry has been good for 12.9 points per game, junior guard Roslyn Wilmer 12.4, senior guard Janet Butler 12.1 and sophomore forward Natosha Gottlieb 11.9.

Landie Thompson and Jenny Black, however, are putting up an average of nine points per game apiece.
In the men's game, the Wildcats (4-4, 3-1 ASC) will look to build on a dramatic win over Concordia last week.

Stading in their way will be the Cru (4-1, 2-1 ASC), a team coached by former Louisiana College player Ken DeWeese.

The Cru are led by 6-foot-5 forward Robert Moore, who is averaging 17.5 points per game and has hit 42 percent of his three-point shots.

Dean Pele (12 points per game) and Sterling Phillips (11.7 points per game) have also been solid for the Mary Hardin-Baylor men.

Louisiana College has been paced by junior win Jarrod Jackson (16 points per game), junior point guard JeLani Mitchell (13.4 points per game) and senior post Chukwuma Ekeh (11.5 points per game).
