A native of Bourg, Louisiana, Jai Melancon returns for his third season with the Wildcats. Melancon began in the 2022 season as an analyst on the offensive side of the ball and helped the Cats to a 7-4 record. The 2022 Wildcat offense was first in the Sooner Athletic Conference in rushing touchdowns.Â
In 2023, Melancon returned as the Receivers Coach, and his unit helped the Wildcats to a 9-1 season. While Melancon was on staff, he oversaw the Cats rank third in the NAIA in yards per game and first in the Sooner Athletic Conference in Total Yards.
Outside of coaching football, you can find Melancon golfing, hunting, or spending time with family.
