Attended John Curtis Christian High School. Part of 4 state championship teams. Signed to play football at Army (West Point). Transferred to Louisiana College in 2011. Part of the 1st playoff team in Louisiana College football history in 2012. Student coached defensive line at LC in 2014. 2-time All-Conference Academic. Majored in Physical Education and a minor in Education. Coached QB, RB, WR, and DBs at Opelousas High School from 2015-2018 Also, coach track and led Opelousas High girls track team to a district title in 2017. Coached girls basketball at Opelousas High and won a district title in 2018. In 2019, coached WRs and DBs at Catholic High (New Iberia). Parents are Byron and Jackie Porter. Has two younger siblings (Jessica and Brittany). Father, Byron Porter, coached defensive line at Louisiana College in 2018.
