Aldridge, Trull Homer but #19 Wildcats Drop Series Finale

#19 LCU Still Takes Series Win Over (RV) OLLU in Key RRAC Set

PINEVILLE, La. – With the series win already in hand, the #19 Louisiana Christian University baseball team took an early lead but late, big innings prevented the Wildcats from finishing the sweep of (RV) Our Lady of the Lake, falling to the Saints 11-2 Friday afternoon at Billy Allgood Field.

#19 Louisiana Christian (31-7, 16-5 RRAC) jumped out in front in the bottom of the fourth inning as Drake Aldridge led off the frame and went opposite field for the second straight game, hitting a home run over the right field wall to put the Wildcats up 1-0.

But (RV) Our Lady of the Lake (26-13, 15-6 RRAC) took over from there, scoring four runs in the fifth, three in the seventh, and four more in the eighth to go up 11-1.

Down to their last out in the eighth inning, LCU added another run as Braden Trull also took a ball out to right field for a solo shot and the game's final run.

Aldridge's home run was his sixth of the season, and marks the second time this season hitting homers in back-to-back games.

Trull's home run was his fourth of the season and first since Feb. 5.
