PINEVILLE, La. – With the series win already in hand, the #19 Louisiana Christian University baseball team took an early lead but late, big innings prevented the Wildcats from finishing the sweep of (RV) Our Lady of the Lake, falling to the Saints 11-2 Friday afternoon at Billy Allgood Field.
#19 Louisiana Christian (31-7, 16-5 RRAC) jumped out in front in the bottom of the fourth inning as
Drake Aldridge led off the frame and went opposite field for the second straight game, hitting a home run over the right field wall to put the Wildcats up 1-0.
But (RV) Our Lady of the Lake (26-13, 15-6 RRAC) took over from there, scoring four runs in the fifth, three in the seventh, and four more in the eighth to go up 11-1.
Down to their last out in the eighth inning, LCU added another run as
Braden Trull also took a ball out to right field for a solo shot and the game's final run.
Aldridge's home run was his sixth of the season, and marks the second time this season hitting homers in back-to-back games.
Trull's home run was his fourth of the season and first since Feb. 5.
Aldridge and Trull both went 1-for-3 with their home runs accounting for their one hit, run scored, and RBI in the contest. Both also drew a walk.
Brady Huffman went 1-for-3 and stole a base.
Logan Lobell came on in the ninth as a pinch hitter and got a single in his lone at-bat.

Braden McLin joined Trull and Aldridge in drawing a base on balls.
Owen Simoneaux (4-1) got the start and threw 4.1 innings allowing six hits and four runs, all earned, with three strikeouts and a pair of walks.
Alan Mason went 1.2 innings, giving up just a hit and no runs with no walks or strikeouts.
Thomas Collins threw an inning, allowing four hits and three runs, all earned, with a walk and a strikeout.
Aedan Thibodeaux went just 0.1 innings, giving up four hits and four runs, all earned, with a walk and no strikeouts.
Davis Duhon finished the afternoon, throwing the final 1.2 innings and didn't give up a hit or a run, walking two with no strikeouts.
The #19 Wildcats next head across the Red River for a three-game Red River Athletic Conference set with in-Parish rival LSU Alexandria. The series against the Generals (27-10, 15-4 RRAC) starts with a single game on Fri., April 10 with first pitch set for 6 p.m. at Generals Field.
