#14/#8 Wildcats Blank (RV) LSUS to Open RRAC Tournament

4-0 Win Sets Up Semifinal Rematch with #6/#2 Xavier on Friday

NEW ORLEANS – The #14/#8 Louisiana Christian University women's tennis team took care of business in the quarterfinals of the 2026 Red River Athletic Conference Championship Tournament, shutting out the (RV) LSU Shreveport Pilots 4-0 Thursday afternoon at the Xavier Tennis Center.
 
#14/#8 Louisiana Christian (12-6) quickly took the first point from (RV) LSU Shreveport (1-9) in the doubles competition. In the number three match-up, Ana Sofia Ferrer Martinez and Akari Uchiyama blanked their LSUS opposition, 6-0, to give the Wildcats the edge. Shortly after that, Farren Allysia Sandy and Elizaveta Mikhailova secured the point for LCU with a 6-2 win in the number one match, making it 1-0 Wildcats overall.
 
Once singles competition started, Ferrer Martinez quickly gave LCU another point as she dispatched her opponent in the number five match, 6-1, 6-0.
 
Not long after that, Valeria Callejo put the Wildcats just one point away from securing the overall win as she won the number three singles match, 6-3, 6-0.
 
Mikhailova finished off the shutout as she took care of her opponent in the number one match by a 6-0, 6-2 score, bringing a halt to all other matches with the overall win secured.
 
The Wildcats now advance to Friday's RRAC Championship Tournament semifinal round where they'll take on the event's host, #6/#2 Xavier. Opening serve of the semifinal match against the #6/#2 Gold Nuggets (16-7) is set for 11 a.m. at the XULA Tennis Center.
