HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The #18/#15 Louisiana Christian University women's tennis team forced three tiebreak sets in singles, but it wasn't enough to come through with the win, falling to the William Carey Crusaders 7-0 Thursday at the William Carey Tennis Complex.
Louisiana Christian (0-3) had its best showing in doubles on court three as
Akari Uchiyama and
Ana Sofia Ferrer Martinez dropped a 6-3 decision while the Wildcats dropped the doubles point.
Martinez, Uchiyama, and
Farren Allysia Sandy all forced the third, tiebreak set in singles, but ultimately all three fell as the Wildcats were swept by the Crusaders (1-0).
LCU heads to Texarkana, Texas next week for the Texas A&M-Texarkana Invitational. The Wildcats will open the event by taking on Freed-Hardeman. Opening serve against the Lions (0-0) is set for 4 p.m. on Fri., Feb. 20 at the Tennis Courts at Texarkana College.
