Game Recap: Softball |

Last Gasp Comeback Attempt Ends With Bases Loaded

PINEVILLE, La. – The #6 seed Louisiana Christian University softball program reached base safely five times in their final turn at-bat, scoring two runs and having a chance to tie or win the game with their sixth spot on the lineup card in the box and the sacks full, but it was not meant to be as the UHV Jaguars induced their sixth pop-out of the day to eliminate the Wildcats for the third year in-a-row and end their campaign, 3-2.

Wildcats Top Performers:

  • Bevan Hartnett was the star of a late-surging offense, going 2-for-3 with a hit-by-pitch and one of the club's two RBIs, singling through the left side of the infield to score Lexi Broussard, trimming the lead down to one.

  • Mariel Medrano got the seventh inning started with a rocket knock through the 4-3 hole, followed by Broussard wearing a HBP bruise, then Jordan Dauthier sent a screamer down the line that kicked up chalk to allow Medrano to cross and finally Bella Houck drew a walk prior to Hartnett's clutch single.

  • Houck ended her collegiate career on a 19-game on-base streak after doubling as well as the base on balls.

  • Addison Greak pitched her heart out in her final appearance of 2025, recording all but one out in the sixth with nary a walk and two strikeouts before giving way to Morgan Louviere.
