Wildcats End Regular Season On A Positive Note With Sweep

 
HAWKINS, Texas – The Louisiana Christian University softball program heads into the postseason perfectly perched at .500 (25-25) after completing the season sweep of Jarvis Christian University on the road Tuesday afternoon, 5-2.

  • Morgan Louviere (2.1 IP) and Brooke Ross (4.2 IP) made hitting difficult for the Bulldogs, combining to allow just three hits, three walks, and two runs (both unearned) on top of striking out five as Ross picked up the win in relief to improve to 5-7.
 
  • Bella Houck extended her career-long hitting streak to a dirty dozen (12) and the on-base streak climbed up to 15 in the process as well, reaching thrice via a two-run double, an RBI-single, and a hit-by-pitch as she tied her career-high with a trio of ribbies as well.
 
  • Claire Cullen notched her seventh multi-hit outing while representing "The Hill" and fourth of the campaign in addition to her fourth multi-RBI (fifth of LCU tenure) showing of the year, hustling around the bases for her first ever triple that brought home a pair.
 
  • Mariel Medrano tallied the third and final contest with numerous knocks for the Cats, doubling once, scoring twice, stealing a base, and drawing a free pass.
 
  • Lexi Broussard reached safely two times, poking a single plus a base on balls while crossing the dish on both occasions.

  • The Orange and Blue look to be locked into the sixth seed in the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament and will most likely face the third-seeded #24 Texas A&M-Texarkana Eagles in the First Round on Thursday May 1 at 6 p.m. inside Wildcat Park.
