PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University athletics program recognizes baseball's Kade Linn and softball's Carley Koch as this week's LCU Student-Athletes of the Week.
 
Linn, a redshirt junior from New Iberia, Louisiana, was the leader of a bullpen that did not allow a single earned run over 18 straight innings last week including the entire series at Xavier (Louisiana). He went 4.2 scoreless (earned nor unearned) frames with a Wildcat-best eight strikeouts, 15.49 K/9, and a 0.86 WHIP, allowing only four baserunners via three hits plus a walk. Strikeouts consisted of more than half his total outs recorded (8-of-14, 57.1%), picking up the victory during the series finale vs. the Gold Rush, the team's seventh straight win overall.
 
Koch, a junior from River Ridge, Louisiana, might have single-handedly put the USSA Eagles on the Endangered Species list, doubling her season RBI total in just five innings of the series opener with a career-best seven RBIs in which she went 4-for-4 (career-high in hits) with a three-run homer (the go-ahead runs), a two-run double, and a pair of RBI-singles, falling just a triple shy of the elusive cycle. For the week, she led the Wildcats in slugging percentage (.579), total bases (11), RBIs (8), extra-base hits (3), doubles (2), and home runs (1) while the first baseman went 6-for-19 (.316) with a trio of runs scored as well.
