ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Louisiana Christian University softball program registered its first shutout of the season and scored its three runs courtesy of a passed ball plus a two-run single as the Cats opened the Generals Showdown with a 3-0 small-ball victory over Oklahoma Panhandle State.

• Addison Greak ran her scoreless innings streak to 13-in-a-row and has not walked her last 63 batters dating back to March 22 against the eventual national champions from Our Lady of the Lake.

 
                        * Opposite the Aggies, the reigning RRAC Pitcher of the Week twirled a complete game five-hitter with four strikeouts, zero runs or walks allowed, and a bean ball. 
 

• Emma Hunt manufactured the first Wildcats run in the opening frame, beating out an infield single, advancing to second on an error, stealing third, then bolting home on a passed ball to put LCU on the scoreboard.

 
                        * For the afternoon, she had half of the team's six base hits in a 3-for-3 showing at the plate, stole both second and third bases, and scored. 
 

• Mariel Medrano came up huge in the clutch to give the Cats some insurance late, smoking a two-RBI groundball back up the box and into centerfield to bring across McKenzie Montgomery and Lexi Broussard.

 

• Bevan Hartnett cracked a laser beam that split the right-center gap and galloped into second for a double as the one extra-base knock for Coach Roberts' group.

 

• Carley Koch pinch-hit for the backstop (Hartnett) and promptly singled for her one at-bat of the opener while Lexi Broussard reached the painful way by wearing a pitch in the elbow.
