Polk Repeats as SAC Player of the Week to End Season

Freshman Safety Had Four Interceptions with a Touchdown for Second Week in a Row

11/17/2025 12:06:00 PM

OKLAHOMA CITY – Louisiana Christian University football freshman safety Kylon Polk picked off an opposing quarterback four times, bringing one back for a score, for the second week in a row on his way to earning his second-straight Sooner Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week award to wrap up the 2025 season, the conference office announced on Monday.

A week after setting a conference record by intercepting Arkansas Baptist four times, returning one 53 yards for a score, on his way to winning both the SAC and NAIA National Defensive Player of the Week honors, Polk, a native of Loreauville, picked off the Ottawa quarterbacks four times, returning one 58 yards for a touchdown as Louisiana Christian dominated the #11 Spirit, 48-13, on its way to earning a share of the SAC Football Championship. Polk added nine tackles, seven of which were solo tackles, in Saturday's win as well.

Polk's eight-interception outburst the last two weeks has vaulted him to 11 picks on the season, more than any player throughout all of the NAIA, NCAA Division I FBS, Division I FCS, Division II, and Division III.

This is Polk's second SAC Defensive Player of the Week honor of his career.

Louisiana Christian wrapped up its season at 8-3 overall, 7-1 in the SAC and one of three teams to win a share of the SAC Championship with OUAZ and Texas Wesleyan. This is the second SAC Title since LCU joined the conference for the fall 2021 season, along with the one won in the 2023 season.
