Sierra Adds Two Goals and Three Assists as Wildcats Get First RRAC Win of Season

LONGVIEW, Texas – The Louisiana Christian University men's soccer team got a three-goal performance from Aran Hernander Vivar on its way to its first conference win of the season with a dominant 9-3 result over the Texas College Steers Thursday afternoon at Lear Park.

Juan Sierra opened the scoring just 90 seconds after kickoff and the Wildcats were on their way. Gustavo Varnier added a goal at the 11-minute mark and Hernandez Vivar got his first a minute later to give LCU a 3-0 lead just 12 minutes into the contest.

Hernandez Vivar's second came in the 36th minute and then Juan Pablo Murillo Pazos added one in the 44th to give the Wildcats a 5-0 lead at the break.

Hernandez Vivar completed the hat trick in the 51st minute to put LCU up 6-0.

But Texas College showed some fight, scoring in the 55th and 60th minutes to cut the deficit down to 6-2 quickly.

Duarte Mendes slowed the Steer rally with a 62nd minute goal, only to see TC get it back in the 69th minute, making it 7-3 Wildcats.

But that was Texas College's last gasp at a comeback as Sierra added another in the 78th minute and Christian Sigaran capped the scoring in the 83rd minute.

Hernandez Vivar's three goals came on six shots, four of which were on frame. He also added an assist.

Sierra scored twice on four shots, all four of which were on frame. He also contributed assists to three of the other goals scored in the contest.
