ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Louisiana Christian University softball program scored its most runs in a single game over the past 14 seasons, dropped 22 on McPherson in just four innings worth of at-bats during a 22-2 drubbing.
The offensive explosion ranks as the third-highest in the history of the team, slotting only behind a pair of 23-0 victories over Ozarks (Arkansas) on April 2, 2011 and Tougaloo on March 20, 1998.
The Wildcats averaged 1.8 runs for every out recorded and approximately 5.5 per frame.
Among other eye-popping statistics were drawing a program-record 15 walks, rapping out a dozen hits, clobbering three home runs, legging out a pair of triples, and recording six extra-base knocks in total.
