NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Louisiana Christian University men's basketball program had its worst shooting evening of the campaign opposite the Xavier Gold Rush, stunting their momentum in a low-scoring setback, 61-42.
 
The Wildcats seemingly had a lid on the basket that it could not pry loose, lurching and sputtering its way to season-lows in nearly every offensive category; field goals (12), field goal percentage (25%), three-pointers (1), three-point percentage (6.3%) and points (42).

• For the 17th game in-a-row, Devin Carter put double-digit points on the scoreboard, cobbling together a team-high 13 points.

 

• Konnor DeJean fronted all student-athletes with a quartet of assists, Chukwuemeke Nwaoshai was the clubhouse leader in rebounds at seven, and Joseph Holloway contributed the only block.

 

• Freshman Tomario Thomas saw action in a season-most ten minutes and was responsible for the lone three-pointer to find the bottom of the net.

 

• The only career benchmark to be reached was by Omarion Layssard, who tied his highest total regarding free throws made (7) and logged five boards, all resulting in second-chance opportunities.
