Wildcats Top Performers:
- Jaycee Woods faced one shot shy of her career-most against a promising Rams club and turned them away 100% of the time, collecting seven saves against 14 shots faced to put together a clean sheet.
- Maria Alonso came off the bench to contribute a pair of shot attempts along with one of the squad's two shots-on-goal.
- Oklahoma Wesleyan transfer Kamsi Nwosu matched Alonso's output in her inaugural match for the Cats as the defender showed some offense as she also got two shots off including one on-target.
Record Book Watch:
Career
- Although she did not appear on the stat sheet despite playing the full 90 minutes, Emma Monnet is far and away the most decorated women's soccer student-athlete to play here, holding the program's all-time records for points (81), goals (33), shots (142), SOG (84), and game-winners (7) while slotting in second regarding assists (15).
- Woods moved into a tie for fourth place on the school's shutout leaderboard with her goose egg on Saturday, giving her 6.5 between the pipes, six complete match outings and one combined blanking (combined shutouts count for 1/2 a shutout).
* The keeper's goals against average (1.21) is second-lowest, she gained 20% on her save percentage against Mobile alone to jump her up to second-best (75.8%), and her 69 saves sit six back of the tenth spot in program history which would bump out Jessica Carro Pedreira (2021-22), who she was the backup for, who had 75.
Next:
- The 2023 NAIA Runners-up and #2 ranked William Carey Crusaders are next on the to-do list for the Orange and Blue when they travel to The Burg for a 5 p.m. kick on Thursday evening.
