• Raquel Coelho Rodrigues, who was the highlight of Thursday's contest at OBU, once again logged the most competitive outing of the day on the third flight as she took the second set to a tiebreaker versus Madalena Amil (4-6, 6⁷-6⁹).

• Elizaveta Mikhailova came close to winning a set on court six, bouncing back from 6-0 to nearly knock off Kristyna Dvorakova immediately after at 7-5.

• Patricia Principal Pineda took six a half-dozen games on the top flight from Monica Balau (6-3, 6-3).

• #2 Alexandra Cedeno fell 6-2 and 6-1 plus #4 Ana Sofia Ferrer Martinez dropped a 6-2 and 6-0 decision while #5 Tanit Cevada Cruz lost 6-1 and 6-0.
