PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University athletics program would like to recognize baseball's Hunter Gotreaux as well as softball's Katelyn Carpenter and Addison Greak as this week's LCU Student-Athletes of the Week.

Gotreaux, a junior from Lake Charles, Louisiana, set season-highs in RBIs (8), hits (3), runs scored (3) and home runs (2) during a 3-for-3 game one of the series vs. Texas College while also legging out a triple for 11 total bases. In the second contest the series with the Steers, he set a personal-best with multiple steals & in the win over (RV) Loyola (New Orleans), he had a season-most five assists in the field. The second basemen led the Wildcats in total bases (16), RBIs (14), slugging percentage (1.333), fielding assists (10) & stolen bases (2). For the week, the Hutchinson CC transfer went 7-of-12 (.583) with 14 RBIs, six runs scored, a pair of home runs in the same game, two steals, a triple, a double, a sacrifice fly & a walk while recording a perfect fielding percentage over 15 total chances.

Carpenter, a sophomore from Pearland, Texas, was the starting pitcher for the team's second no-hitter in a five-day span after tossing a complete game no-no the previous Saturday against Huston-Tillotson, contributing four frames of hitless and scoreless action while whiffing five Pioneers to collect her second victory in the Wednesday sweep of Crowley's Ridge.

Greak, a junior also from Pearland, Texas, came on in relief to finish the job, capturing the final nine outs of the ballgame while also fanning five batters and walking just one, to earn her first career save. The women helped the Orange and Blue notch its second no-hit bid of the season, its first such campaign with multiple since 2017 when Louisiana College blanked both Howard Payne and Mary Hardin-Baylor during American Southwest Conference play.

Baseball, who is receiving 39 votes in the NAIA Top 25 which currently stands as the 31st-best ballclub in the nation, will look to solidify its case for inclusion when the next poll gets released on Wednesday, March 27 this weekend at Our Lady of the Lake in San Antonio.

Softball will get numerous chances to make its own statement in the coming six-contest slate when they host #21 William Carey on Tuesday (3/5 p.m.), travel to face #1 Our Lady of the Lake on Friday (12/2 p.m.), and then stay in the Alamo City to battle Texas A&M-San Antonio on Saturday (12/2 p.m.).
