ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Louisiana Christian University softball program has only gotten to play twice despite a packed six-game slate when the schedule was rolled out, but in the contests the Wildcats have competed in, they have overpowered the opposition as they cruised past the Cottey Comets during the LSU Alexandria General Showdown on Friday, winning 8-0 in five.

- Brooke Ross was a two-way superstar, hurling a complete game shutout (5.0 IP) with a pair of strikeouts while yielding six baserunners in total while hitting .667 (2-of-3) courtesy of a pair of doubles as she scored and drove in Alyssa Landry to invoke the mercy rule.

- Carley Koch was a menace in the batter's box, doubling and picking up two RBIs to open the scoring in the first inning single that happened with two outs, a full count and the bases juiced.
