Wildcats Top Performers:

  • Jude Akavueze had a spotless offensive performance, making all seven of his field goal attempts (second time this season he was perfect from the floor) and both of his free throws to lead the Orange and Blue with 16 points. He also topped the team in rebounds by grabbing seven.

  • While the Wildcats struggled from distance as a whole (4-for-17, 23.5%), the same could not be said for D'Marcus Fugett as he hit a season-best three of those (3-of-5, 60%) and 5-of-9 (55.6%) field goals overall. The junior forward ultimately wound up with a solid 14 points as well as a contest-most quartet of assists.

  • Ederick Coleman joined an ever growing list of LCU freshmen to score their first career points, tacking on four.

  • Jon'Quarius McGhee was the top defensive standout on either side of the court, picking three pockets which helped him transition that to 14 points on the offensive end while Branthony Brown tallied his second straight multi-steal affair.

Notes:

  • The offense played its cleanest ballgame of the year, protecting the rock with a season-low eight turnovers.

  • On defense, Huston-Tillotson cashed in only 20 buckets (the lowest for the Cats in 2023-24) in addition to holding the Rams to a campaign-low 64 points.
