Ladies Win Despite Zero Corner Kicks For First Time In 12 Years

 
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Louisiana Christian University women's soccer program had a -10 corner kick differential (10-0) and were out-shot by four (14-10), but persevered and gutted out its fourth win in-a-row, defeating OLLU by a score of 2-1, its first triumph without a corner since 2012.

  • Barriga Casallas sits in a three-way stalemate for seventh on the career points leaderboard after Saturday, scoring her 29th and 30th points as a Cat on top of moving into sixth for goals at a dozen.
 
  • Alonso's 11th goal of her tenure deadlocks her with Jayme Harmon (2013-15) at eighth place, her 71 shots put her slightly ahead of Casallas for the tenth spot on the all-time shots tally, the 36 shots-on-goal are ninth-best, and that third career game-winning goal slides her into elite company with a handful of players tied for third.
 
  • Woods bumped Aimee Ashe (1998, 2000) down to number ten on the saves leaderboard, jumping up to ninth overall at 117 in addition to ballooning her save percentage up to second-highest of all-time (75.5%).

  • On the collective, Head Coach Harrison Houle's women is now second in combined wins / ties (11), has the fourth/sixth-longest winning/unbeaten streak ever (4) and third-most SOGs (135) the school has seen in 28 years.
