Woods Pitches Historic 15th Shutout, Kyle Scores As Cats Edge Jags

ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Louisiana Christian University women's soccer program appointed a new career goalie queen and got a game-winner from an unexpected source to slip by UHV, 1-0.

Wildcats Top Performers:

  • The story of the afternoon was keeper Jaycee Woods, who denied each of the Jags' scoring chances for her 15th career shutout at Louisiana Christian, making her the program's all-time leader, officially surpassing Jessica Carro Pedreira (2021-22), who she was tied with at kickoff.

  • Not to be outdone by Woods was the senior captain Allie Kyle, not usually an offensive weapon, she pulled an uno reverse card by nailing the game-winning and only goal, her first of the year and fifth as a Wildcat.

  • Maria Alonso has made a habit of setting up assists when Coach Houle needs them the most, delivering the strike to Kyle off the bench.

  • Emma Monnet logged as many shots as UHV did as a team, putting a charge into three and placing one on-goal.

Record Book Watch:

Career

  • In addition to the crown that she now possesses, Woods shaved eight points from her GAA number down to 1.19 and tacked on nine more percentage points onto her save rate (73.9%)

Team

  • Their record of 8-4-2 places the unit at the third-best in terms of total victories in a single campaign, their 222 shots are tied for third as well, and the 51 corners slots sixth.

Season

  • Alonso became just the second player to amass double-figure assists in a season, recording number ten in 2024, joining only Lindsey Jacobs' 16-assist fall of 2021 showing in that department.

  • Monnet tied with the aforementioned Jacobs for the fifth-highest shot total all-time, putting together 50 shots up to this point.
