PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University athletics program would like to recognize football's Daylon Charles and women's soccer's Emma Monnet as this week's LCU Student-Athletes of the Week.

Charles, a senior running back from Gueydan, Louisiana, who ranked 14th in the country for rushing touchdowns coming into the weekend, likely moved up the totem pole by adding three more scores on the ground in addition to a career-high 202 rushing yards as he averaged nearly a first down per carry (9.2). It was his second straight game with three rushing touchdowns and the Lake Arthur High School product was the first Wildcat to eclipse the 200-mark since Devin Briscoe gashed McMurry for 231 on March 27, 2021.

Monnet, a senior forward / midfielder from Yzeure, Allier, France, led the Wildcats in points (4), goals (2), SOG (6), and shots (7) including the game-winner vs. (RV) Texarkana. The win over the Eagles was the first victory over a ranked team in program history, previously having been 0-22. Against TAMUT, she tallied her tenth career multi-goal performance as well as her tenth game-winner on top of the match's only scores while placing all three of her attempts on-goal. The five-foot-two dynamo sits one point shy of the century mark with 99, courtesy of 41 goals in addition to 17 assists.

Football tries to get a new home winning streak going on Saturday against Texas College at 2 p.m. as the ballcarrier goes for his fifth consecutive 100-yard rushing contest.

Women's soccer will honor its dozen seniors; Maria Alonso, Zoi Arkirvaki, Jaycee Woods, Lena Cogghe, Valeria Barriga Casallas, Allie Kyle, Kayleigh Tomasich, Brianna Lopez, Maryane Mafra, Emma Monnet, Jazmine Jamison, and Daniela Gomez; prior to its 5 p.m. start versus Huston-Tillotson on Thursday night before playing UHV at 1 p.m. over at Johnny Downs Sports Complex in Alexandria on Saturday afternoon.
